Plop Goes the Elephant

Plop went the Elephant_2015_08_18_9999_97One of the photographer’s great pleasures in life is sitting at an isolated water hole in the middle of a vast Mopani forest just watching animals arriving to take water, and then playing about the pan. Occasionally we have a gem opportunity, such as this young elephant (Loxodonta africana) taking water directly into its mouth and laying its truck out to bask in the sun, as if plopping forward with gay abandon!

  1. My opinion this young elephant is an excellent picture, reason, the baby is in its natural surroundings, beneath an adult”s legs, making its self known to water. The water on its back is evidence of a learning progress, of course could be a dribble from the adult.
