This wild dog (Lycaon pictus – Shona: bumi) was spotted sitting in part sun and part shade away from the rest of the pack, shortly before the pack moved on to the hunt for the night. Exposure was an touch difficult with this image; the lighter parts of the dog being in the sunlight and the darker parts in the shade. Wildlife photographers talk about the golden hour… this was it.
