Lion and Buffalo Confrontation

This image of a lion and a buffalo confronting each other about the trunk of a large tree was taken in particularly difficult lighting, during the early morning after a kill. The lioness was not particularly serious about taking this old ‘dagga boy’ down. Nor were the rest of the 10 strong pride who sat and watched their ‘colleague’ at play, bellies full to the brim with the previous night’s kill.

    1. John, I agree… a split second earlier would perhaps have been the better shot… but it all happened so quickly sometime one misses the opportunity. Other shots taken were not quite as dramatic as this.
