This Warthog (Phacochoerus aethiopicus) could not wait to get into the mud shortly before this image was captured by Mike King in the Umfolozi National Park in Zululand South Africa. It was a particularly hot day (over 40° C.) when Mike found this ‘wallow’ close to the road. Patience paid off, allowing the photographer to capture a few unique images of animals in the mud, this being one of them. Another special thanks to Mike King for allowing the reproduction of this image on this blog.
